A level is a two year course. The Personal Portfolio is worth 60% and the Externally Set Assignment (ESA) is worth 40% of your total mark.
Each assignment consists of two parts:
Digital photography Students will develop integrated knowledge, skills and understanding of the following: ● The principles of digital photography, including the pixel and digital processing ● Viewpoint, white balance, composition, focus, aperture, shutter speed, exposure, shooting modes, histograms ● The use and qualities of image acquisition hardware and software, image manipulation and analogies between digital and other forms of photography ● The relationships between colour and tone for screen and print-based media, screen calibration, colour gamut, file formats such as raw, jpeg, tiff, png ● The use of a range of source material, software and hardware in the generation and development of ideas.

Progression Routes: We have had great success with students going on to study Art and Design at a higher level. Students have gone on to do Art Foundation at Oxford Brookes, Banbury, and Leamington Spa colleges and on to degree courses at universities such as York, Falmouth, and the University of the Arts London. Upon visiting them and their final shows, their tutors have been nothing but complimentary about our student’s open-mindedness, ability to experiment and explore, sense of self and personable natures.
