AQA

This qualification offers an engaging and effective introduction to Sociology. Students will learn the fundamentals of the subject and develop skills valued by higher education (HE) and employers, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research.  Sociology is a subject which helps explain social change, past, present and future.  It encourages political and social engagement with contemporary social issues and inspires students to be actively involved with social research and policy.

The course will appeal to a cross-section of students. It builds on skills developed in the sciences and humanities and enables progression into a wide range of other subjects.

The 2 year course consists of compulsory content and a choice of optional content.

A degree in Sociology.  Routes into jobs in the public sector such as policing, teaching, medicine, civil service
