Year 12 and 13 |
A level is a two year course. The personal Portfolio is worth 60% and the Externally Set Assignment is worth 40% of your total mark. Each assignment consists of two parts:
Fine Art requires engagement with aesthetic and intellectual concepts through the use of traditional and/or digital media, materials, techniques, and processes for the purpose of self-expression, free of external constraints. Fine Art may be created to communicate ideas and messages about the observed world, the qualities of materials, perceptions, or preconceptions. It can also be used to explore personal and cultural identity, society and how we live, visual language, and technology. Fine Art allows us to consider and reflect on our place in the world, both as individuals and collectively.

Progression Routes: We have had great success with students going on to study Art at a higher level. Students have gone on to do Art Foundation at Oxford Brookes, Banbury and Leamington Spa colleges and on to degree courses at universities such as York, Falmouth and the University of the Arts London. Upon visiting them and their final shows, their tutors have been nothing but complimentary about our student’s open-mindedness, ability to experiment and explore, sense of self and personable natures. |
Entry Requirements: GCSE Grade 6 Fine Art. |
